A Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa e Extensão Universitária (FAPEU), dá suporte administrativo a projetos de ensino, pesquisa e extensão, inicialmente apenas na UFSC e agora também em outras universidades. E publica, anualmente, uma revista de divulgação científica, com matérias escritas em linguagem acessível, mostrando alguns dos projetos apoiados. A ideia é mostrar a grande variedade de áreas em que a Universidade atua, produzindo conhecimento. Este número teve fotos de **Cristiane Fontinha** e textos dos jornalistas **Alexandre Gonçalves** e **Sara Caprario**. O projeto gráfico, a edição e a diagramação ficaram sob minha responsabilidade. Apenas uma pequena amostra do que é feito nas Universidades. Já foram publicados 11 números dessa revista, todos com igual diversidade de áreas e mesmo assim não foi coberta nem a metade do que está acontecendo nos laboratórios universitários. Pense em conhecer um pouco melhor a Universidade e o que é feito, além das aulas, antes de acreditar em tudo que o movimento anti-educação pública divulga..
